Jena Baker-Calloway
Director, MSU Detroit Center

Jena Baker-Calloway is director of the MSU Detroit Center. Calloway joined University Outreach and Engagement in 2011 after holding leadership positions across several sectors, including nonprofit, health care, and higher education. As director of the MSU Detroit Center, she has responsibility for administration and operations, UOE programming, and community-university partnership development. She has led the expansion of the MSU Science Festival in Detroit, hosted pre-college workshops for Detroit youth, and created a pre-college scholarship for Detroit area youth with the generous support of corporate and individual sponsors.
In her role at Michigan State University, Calloway serves as a community advisory member to several community and nonprofit organizations, acts as a grant consultant and reviewer, and is an appointed member of the Wayne State University Institutional Review Board. She is also a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce – Leadership Detroit Class XXXV.
A lifelong Detroiter, Calloway holds both a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and a master’s degree in public health policy and administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.

LaKisha Troup is the Office Assistant IV, for the MSU Detroit Center. She serves as the facility manager and manages the MSU Detroit Center website and social media platforms. LaKisha is an alumna of Wayne State University and holds bachelor degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. A lifelong Detroiter, she is also, a small business owner and volunteers with Detroit Peoples Platform.
