Teacher Education Academy and Kinesiology Academy
This is your invitation to apply to one of two highly selective, residential, pre-college programs for current 10th and 11th graders. These programs are committed to cultivating and increasing diversity in the fields of Education and Kinesiology by recruiting students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to Michigan State University’s College of Education.
When: June 15, 2025 - June 28, 2025
Where: MSU campus East Lansing
These program includes:
- An up-close glimpse into college life on the campus of Michigan State University.
- Preparation for success in college with classes including a college prep course, pre-college writing, into Urban Education or an intro to Kinesiology.
- Exploration of prospective careers in Education or Kinesiology.
- Learning about applying for college scholarships, financial aid and FAFSA.
- Fun games and activities
- A paid cash stipend upon program completion
Criteria for Application: Current 10th, or 11th grade student in partnering urban school districts (Lansing, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids), Demonstration of academic potential and online recommendation from school representative. Copy of your January 2025 high school transcript, student email address, a parent email address(must be DIFFERENT from student email), complete a 300-word essay prompt.
